3 Websites Everyone in Education Should Know About

Have you ever wondered how to make your classes more varied? It is a question that many teachers face when preparing for a class. The Web is filled with many options. Here are 3 websites that I can suggest that can help a teacher with this issue. The websites chosen suit mainly for elementary school because of the subjects they cover as well as the involvement of the parents. Sure, if you want to use one of those websites, you need to make sure you have the material to present it.

1. Share and Interact With Parents Using ClassDojo.

The first website I chose is ClassDojo. It is a free platform for teachers. ClassDojo is a great way connect parents to what the students do during the day. Parents can get access to this platform on any device and can appreciate the pictures or videos the teacher or the other students share on the class page. Also, each student gets a digital portfolio where they can share the new things they learned or that they are proud of with videos or photos. In addition, the platform has many tools teacher may need. No need to find everything on a direct website, those tools are all on ClassDojo. For example, there is the group generator, a timer, a student selector and much more. (link)

2. Make Sure the Students Understood With Kahoot.

The second website I chose is Kahoot. This website has a free and a premium version. Kahoot is an interactive quiz for students. A teacher decides with the material they saw to make a quiz to see how the students understood the material. Kahoot is not a normal quiz, it can become a live game. The teacher basically start the game on his device and the students with their device connect to the quiz using a PIN the teacher has. It is important to know that student need to be able to see the question from the teacher's device, because the students only have to the colored buttons associated with an answer. The teacher has the questions and the multiple-choice answers. The student has access to the remote to choose his answer. In addition, this is a little competition between the students who accumulate the most points. To accumulate the most points you need to have the right answers and be one of the fastest to answer. 3. Explain and Review using BrainPOP.

The third website I chose is BrainPOP. It has some free content, but the content is not all free. To get all the content, you need a subscription. Besides that, BrainPOP is a great website that offers learning resources on many subjects. The website has interactive games or animated movies which explain different themes. It helps students to connect to the concept in different way than what the teacher showed in class. It is possible to interact with the concept in comparison to be taught only the theory. BrainPOP use the student's curiosity to make them learn more. The animated movies are a big part of this website, it shows content in a narrative. They make their videos reliable for the students who watch them. (link)
